It is the DfE's plan that all pupils, in all year groups, will return to school full-time from the beginning of the autumn term.

This guidance is intended to support schools, both mainstream and alternative provision, to prepare for this.  It applies to primary, secondary (including sixth forms), infant, junior, middle, upper, school-based nurseries and boarding schools.  We expect independent schools to follow the control measures set out in this document in the same way as state-funded schools.  The guidance also covers expectations for children with special educational needs and disability (SEND), including those with education, health and care plans, in mainstream schools.

Separate guidance is available for early yearsfurther education colleges and for special schools.

Supporting Children and Young People Who Have Experienced Trauma Webinars

Sigma TSA are excited to be able to offer a series of webinars that focus on trauma inform1593094081 sigma logoed approaches and interventions to support children and young people in school.  The last webinar takes place on Tuesday 7th July at 4pm.

The aim of each webinar is to support schools to further develop trauma reducing approaches and interventions as they resettle children back into school and to learning.  The webinars will offer practical strategies that can be implemented easily in school.

The strategies will be evidence-based from research in psychology and neuroscience.  Some of the evidence-based approaches and interventions informed by research are deceptively simple.  They are, however, also enormously powerful in their impact.

Maths Hubs opportunities for 2020/21 now available

The 40 Maths Hubs across England are offering a range of professional development opportunities for teachers and schools in 2020/21. All school and college phases are covered. Projects enable teachers to collaborate in ‘Work Groups’ with colleagues from other local schools.  As in previous years, projects will cover all aspects of maths subject knowledge and pedagogy, with many exploring teaching for mastery.  This year, they will also give participants the chance to work together on approaches to curriculum recovery.
